A little FPS I discovered a few years ago in a French magazine that offered Freeware on a CD supplied free with the magazine. I spent hundreds (who said thousands?) of hours playing it. First solo, then multiplayer when I finally got an Internet connection. If I remember correctly, it was even available on Linux. It was a blessed time when fun and gameplay came first.
And what about you? What's your best memory of OpenArena?
Turns out there are active communities that have implemented new engine, called Omega, which fixes most issues. With that installed game is really good, recommended
I've run into a really weird bug where the brightness will go down a few seconds after I open, if I change any graphics option it goes back to normal, but after a few seconds it goes dark again, any idea what's causing this/how to remedy this?

*edit: this does not affect gameplay
This was a quake 3 bug due to a gamma issue. Not sure how its fixed on Windows but on Linux, Lutris has a restore gamma option. Look it up on Google.
